LARGE
APPLIANCES & EQUIPMENT
Make sure that the fridge & freezer are clean and dry.
Moisture and mildew will cause substantial damage to your
valuables. The doors to these appliances must be left slightly
ajar. Store smaller items within these appliances if space
is available. |
|
FURNITURE
Cover the floor of the storage unit with a plastic sheet or
pallet. If possible, disassemble your furniture & cover
with plastic sheets. To prevent scratches, table and chair
legs should be wrapped. Assembled tables should be placed
upside down with the legs pointing upward. Chairs should be
stacked side-by-side with the seats touching, separated with
plastic sheets or paper. Leaning or stacking furniture against
outside walls should be avoided.
|
METAL OBJECTS
Protect your tools and bicycles from rust by oiling them before
storing. Store away from exposed items to avoid oil staining.
|
FRAGILE ITEMS
Carefully wrap each fragile item in paper or foam plastic
wrap separately before storing in pack box. Stuff the box
with paper or wrap, including the bottom, so that there are
no empty spaces in the carton. Plates, saucers and bowls should
be placed on their sides in a dish pack divider kit for increased
protection. |
CLOTHING
Store your clothing in wardrobe boxes with hangers to save
the shape of your garments.
|
BOOKS or VALUABLE PAPERS
File boxes should be used for important documents. Books should
be packed into boxes horizontally and the empty space stuffed
with paper to avoid movement.
